Default all of you N/A guy's. . . .

Thinking of going N/A with my '93 Civic HB. Trying to get an idea on what to do. Post what you all think I should do. . . . . thinking about doing biult GSR. I'm trying to get into the 12's, don't care if it's high or low 12's. As long as I get there N/A. What do you all think?

I think an ls vtec with i/h/e and some head work with cams will get you close. My friend had a 91 hatch with an ls vtec with nothing but cams in a stock head, and intake, and he ran a 13.5 in fontana in the middle of the summer, while damn near overheating.

i agree with both guys on top... LSvtec with CTR pistons, and some skunk2 stage 2 cams with the valve train should do the job.

drop a LS-1 in your car. probably 11s all day on slicks. j/k

semi-strip the car - backseats, etc
all the *right* bolt-ons - no dc 4-2-1, no ebay intake, etc
ahem*Carsound high flow cat* ahem - $70 shipped from me

Now for the internals, if you want to keep it all honda....it'll be tough, but your best bet:

CTR pistons,
CTR cams(or 2001 ITR cams - i could get you a set w/ less than 1000miles for $375)
Mill the head
ITR IM

Wow...that'll be tough as hell, actually....**** it. go for aftermarket stuff.

Just grab a crate motor from IB. Save time and headache.

mill the head what the hell... no dont mill the head.... do what i told you earlier and you will hit 12's. never mill the head...once again never mill the head unless you have too, not to raise compression, unless you are trying to be one of these people who say yeah i made 200+hp on stock pistons and i dont care if i ruined my head.....the setup i gave you before is a great setup... if you are interested i have a motor that is sitting at my shop that would probably be something like you are looking for ...call the number in my signature and ask for miller =we will tak about a motor for you......

thats easy, b16a w/ ctr pistons, thinner head gasket + head mill about 15 thous and CTR cams and valvetrain with a mugen, skunk or one of my GBR programs and a Spoon or Toda header ...

or if you got the money, I'll send you a longblock ...

B18C 85mm bore, 13.0:1 JE slugs, Eagle rods, Portflow B18C1 (P72) head, TodaB/C's, JUN3's, or SK2 2/3's, 370-440cc injectors, extrude honed dual stage GSR manifold with IAB's removed, Hondata, and an ITR tranny with Quaife LSD... That's a nice way to spend some money but i wouldn't have any doubt of low 12's with that setup once you get it tuned...

This setup sounds pretty good, it'll cost you a pretty penny.

1. Strip your car.
2. B18C5 (more expensive but LSD is a good thing to have)
3. Good I/H/E setup.
4. Action Kevlar clutch with Fidanza flywheel.
5. Set of slicks.

IMO with a good driver that should get you in the 12's if not pretty darn close. If that doesn't work throw in a Jun II intake cam and some tuning.

Yea I would never mill the head unless it's just to get it straight... Even when you do that take off the least amount you can... Latez

A guy at the local strip has a Hatch that runs 13.2's with just intake, exhaust and stripped rear interior and slicks, its typeR b18c5 swap. runs those times all day

Another guy runs a 12.4 in his CRX with a H22 with a intake sticin out the front head light , strait header and slicks , also is gutted

But i would go for the LS/Vtec. Wont take much to get you where you wanna be. good luck You can always buy my H23 bottom end and H22 head and build from there hehe.. lataz

I think you should let people know how much you want to spend exactly. Because given that the funds limitless, the list could go on forever. Milling the head is not the best way, but neverthless, a way and a cheap one in that sense. Here's what I would do if I had the money....any inputs would be appreciated:

iron ductile sleeved b18 or b20 block
micropolished, knife-edged, and balanced crankshaft
Probe lightweight rods
IB Wiesco pistons 13:1 comp ratio
ARP bolts...everything
Alaniz Competition ported head
Manley SS valves(cheaper than Ferrea)
Skunk2 Stage2, Jun 3, Toda C, Hondasaver US4 cams...with springs from the cam manufacturer
Erick's Racing 70mm TB
Skunk2 or ITR Intake Manifold(ported to match the TB and the head)
Iceman, Injen, or AEM CAI
SMS or Hytech header OR make your own. (Burns Stainless and Header by Ed has good header design service for a reasonable price)
HONDATA Tuning! or any kind of standalone EMS with proper tuning!

That's all I could think of...I'm sure I'm missing something, but I'm sure above setup will run 12s all day in a CRX or a HB.

Why does ish always have to get soo complicated on here? People are listing some pipedream setups ($$$$). Try this. Skunk2 cammed JDM h22 with tuned hondata, t/b, portmatching, hytech header, 2.5 exhaust, and tiny slicks will get you in to the 12's on a bad day
