Is the absence of weight delusional to speed?
Well ths may not be the easiest thing to explain but since i've done so many damn mods to my car its feels so diferent... its like im getting there quick but i dont feel the pull as much. Now i've removed about 600-700 pounds from my car over the last year and have done every bolt on, efficiency entire new fuel system bosche inline pump, aem rail, fpr, new ignition Accel 300+ thundersport, new iridium spark plugs gapped to .32, 9.3 mm oversized plug wires, CAI, DC4-1 headers, strait cat, tanabe hyper medalian, apexi n1 suspension, strut braces all the way around, ACT stage 4 clutch 16X7 13 ib rims and ah yeah cam gears +2i/-2e Timing advanced to 18 degrees. Also no a/c, power steering, UO racing underdrive pully Now When i first got the car and it was stock, it was like 1st... shift 8250<rip the **** outa tires> 2.... pull like crazy, 3rd er kinda slowed down, 4th pull good.., 5th was a dog. Now its like 1st peel out all through, 2nd peel out a ways, 3rd big scatch, 4th lil scratch, and 5is hella quick above 4500.
I know is faster, cuz of the cars ive raced then and now when it was stock, pulled on v6 camaros by about 2 cars in the 1/4. now i am almost dead even with firebirds, especially from a drop. but it doesnt feel as fast, is this a characteristic common with fwd cars, or since theres less weight do i not feel the resistance of the torque/hp pulling foward?

Wow, that's a long post.
It's because you've gotten used to the speed! Go drive your mom's minivan for a while, then hop back into your own car.

well at first thats what i thought... but i also own a CRV, its puney little 129 seem pretty quick as far as it "feels" even though you dont go anywhere..
Well as I've heard it put before, torque is what you feel, HP is what gets you there. The CRV "feels" fast because it's got more torque to push you into the seat. Your Del Sol gets there quicker because it's probably got about the same, if not more HP, and it's a lot lighter than the CRV.
well yeah thats a good point, cuz im running probably about 180 to the flywheel and only about ~125 torque... so that makes since
speaking in general terms, torque is turning power... which will govern your acceleration... horsepower is pulling (or pushing) power, which governs your top speed...
