98 integra ls wont start in cold
First off I have a 1998 integra with an ls motor in it. The car doesnt like to start in cold weather. I have to crank it over for about 5 minutes before it will finally start. The whole time it fires then bogs and dies. I have to give it gas but the car backfires a little bit and acts like the engine is sticking. When the car finally does start up and get warm it runs fine. As long as the car is warm it will fire up no problem without hesitation. Im wondering if there is a vacuum line or something that I do not have hooked up correctly and the choke is not working. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
I assume there's no CEL. See if letting the fuel pump prime a couple times before starting helps at all. Check/replace the air filter. You may also want to test the TPS and MAP sensor voltages and check your spark.
All that is fine. Already checked it all out. Let me give you guys a rundown on the car. Its an obd0 ls engine with a conversion harness running an 0bd1 p75 ecu. The only thing that is abnormal is that I am using an obd2 gsr dizzy. Is that the problem due to timing? Like I said before, once the car is warm, not a problem. I can shut it off and it starts back up perfectly as long as the engine is warm.
Ok so i just changed the distributor from a gsr to an ls. Still will not start up correctly. It does seem to run a little smoother with the dizzy change but im stumped. Nobody else has ever heard of this problem?
