98 EX with B16A2, NEED HELP QUICK!!!

Default 98 EX with B16A2, NEED HELP QUICK!!!

My friend just installed a B16A2... The plugs doenst fit right... He has the whole wiring from the B16A2(USMD)... He tried to change the whole ECU harness, but he noticed they were different... What can we do to get this thing running with the SI ECU??

pics would help alot. are you sure they aRE civic si wireing harness. did you crossrefererace to see if it really was.

yea the it only has 2 ecu plugs , unlike the 96-98 ex which uses 3 plugs to the ecu... and the harness was still on the motor....

Wow, hate to say it but you are kinda SOL. It is nearly impossible to get the 99 Si harness to work in a 98 Civic. You need to use his original harness from the d16y8 on the new engine. Should plug in just fine then. If you want to use the Si ecu you will have to change connectors(pain in the ***) or get an adaptor made.

I wonder how u found out... Maybe the hard way didnt ya??? Sorry for being so slow to u... Thats what this forum is for, questions are asked and questions are answered... How the heck did i kno there was a OBD2 second gen??? I didnt find out about that until the other day... I only work on my friends car when they need me to... And i dont kno jack about motor swaps...

Sorry if I sounded like I thought you were stupid or something. That is not what I intended.

I found out the wiring problem before I had the b16 in my Hx. I was comparing the two wiring harnesses and I saw the Si only pulled out with 2 plugs, and my original engine came out with 3.
