Default 85mm too much for the street?

Quick question guys....I'm planning on building my b18c1 motor...wanna go with 85mm sleeves / 11.8-12.0:1 wiseco pistons bottom end wise.

Would love to run 91 octane and be able to go full throttle at will.

How many people actually run a similar setup daily driven?

You will be good with a 85mm bore, I hear many around here run it on the street.

You can always go 85.5mm or 86mm bore down the road if you need.

85MM BORE shouldnt cause any reliability issues, your comp ratio on 91 octane may be your downfall, it can be done however the car NEEDS to be tuned on a dyno with a wideband o2.

I do have Hondata...so it'll definitely retuned. One thing that scares me is that I've had problems with my s100/p28. Tuning for some reason got thrown off (started running too rich)...randomly throw code 43s. I never had this problem with my old p72/stage3 setup.

I was originally told to just go with high compression with ib spec super dupers. But I want to be able to drive this car around as I do already, drive to and back from the track, etc.

Is 11.8-12:1 pushing it for us on 91? I know some reputable builders like Tech43/Omniman recommend 11.5 (correct me if I'm wrong).

Well I know people are worried about 85mm possibly transferring too much heat with the thin cylinder walls left over. I'm gonna be running 85mm bore as well, so bump to this thread. I bet earl would have some good input. or vince from golden eagle.

my b18c1 has a 86mm on 12.5:1 with a 95mm crank. You'll be fine.
