put tranny back in but having problems...
i took the tranny out to put a new clutch in but now if i spin one of the front tires the other one goes in a different direction making it impossible to move the car... what could be causing this???
You are okay man. Thats okay if it spins the opposite way. When you put it on the ground it will drive correctly. put the axles in, fill up the transaxle, put tires on and you are good to go.
I'm guessing its a Manual? If so, did you use the special tool to install the new clutch? How does the shifter feel when trying to shift?

that tool just helps align the spines. If he got it in there without the tool then al he would have to do is press the clutch a couple times and it should center the clutch disc itself.
Does the shifter move side to side in neutral and just won't go in the gears or is the shifter just STUCK?

yeah its a manual, the shifter doesnt move at all so im assuming that its stuck in gear but when we put it on the ground its not in reverse cause it doesnt roll back but its not in a gear cause it doesnt roll forward. maybe a gear is jammed or something
So it's completely jammed?
Did you remove the shift linkage WITH the tranny or did you take out the bolt and bitch pin to remove the tranny?
Sounds like your linkage might be binding in a bad way.
This seems a little obvious, but have you pressed the clutch pedal when you try shifting???

yeah i pressed the clutch... i left the linkage with the car, but would misaligned linkage really stop it from moving all together?
