clutch problem
i have a stock clutch it works fine on everyday drives but if u really get into it coming into secound grindes like hell unless u hold the clutch through the floor and go into 2nd a little slow
but just driving regular speeds it works fine
what could be doing this
linkage?

check your fluid, and also makesure your not shifting faster tehn teh tranny. try babying it at high rpms. if not try syncromesh. and if it still dose it. sounds like your syncros are bad.

when i bought the car rather than putting in a short shifter the person who had it before me actually shortened the stick shift itself so the **** kinda almost sits in the boot could this shortened stick contribute to shifting faster than the transmission

imo short shifters or cut shifters dont make a tranny go bad... its really the driver that messes it up by how he/she shifts.
