intercooler fitting on my 01 itr..... ?????'s
Should I just pull the bumper off and start hacking?
Or is there a proper "how to" that I didn't see on h-t somewhere?
I wouldn't mind cutting out that black grill thingy - it looks stupid.
But if I could mount the IC nice and stealthy, that'd be cool too.....
Thoughts, links, etc?
I didn't post in the boost forum b/c it's not model specific.....

the way I did it was to just take off the bumper and test mount the IC. whatever it hit, you hack off. fortunatly, with my '95 front end, the IC hides behind the black grill so you can barely tell that its there

Look at the grill and answer your own question

BR,
Don't go messing with your grill. What you need is a 3 core Laminova air to water intercooler. They are compact simple and around 88% efficient with very little pressure drop. You will only need a small space in the front of the car, about 12" x 12" for a heat exchanger for the water. Let me Know and I will send you one to try out free of charge. I am currently designing a dual 2 core Laminova setup for a V8 Porsche and have a few laying around. BTW I am using the Autorotor 2.2l Twin-screw supercharger.
I am going to have a bunch of the 2 core laminova intercoolers made. The 2 core unit will flow 250 to 300chp. If anyone wants one let me know. I could sell them for $550.00. You'll still need a water pump (around $150) a heat exchanger/radiator for the front of the car (around $85) and a 1-1.5 gallon reservoir($45) I can provide those things too for those prices. If you need to flow more than 300chp you could put two of the 2 core units together. If there is enough demand I could make a 3 core unit for about $750. Generally the long cores are good for 125 to 150chp.
Sorry to hear about your car. It sounds like you made the best of it though.
Did you guess, this is Andy?
BTW my Porsche 928S4 project has turned out really good. I consistently run 4.3 sec 0-60 and mid 12s in the 1/4 with a 3850 lb car w/ only 7.5psi. Stock it runs 6.2 0-60 and 14.7 1/4 mi.

I have the DRAG IC and I still had to cut the black grill out of my bumper. But this was on a 98 front end. If youre gonna cut it, then use a dremel with a reinforced cutting disk, if you dont the disk will brake every 5 inches. I used masking tape to mask off lines of where I wanted to cut.
