Turbo fuel management options
Sorry if this may be a repost but i couldn't find much information on SMCs. I am going to be running a T3 60 trim at 7 psi on my B18B1 with and FMIC, looking to make about 190whp. My question is, what is more reliable fuel management setup?
1. Walbro 255 lph intank fuel pump, 450cc DSM injectors and SMC 500
or
2. Cartech FMU and Walbro 255 lph high pressure inline fuel pump
I am kinda on a budget so these seem to be my only two choices right now. I already have the fmu; also what are the pros and cons of each setup? Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Andrew

First of all why are you going with a 255, you don't need that much if you are only running 7psi. Heck I know cars that make over 300 that don't need 255's. Get the 190.
Second the FMU is the most ghetto way to do it and will not allow you to get the most power out of your set up. Neither will the SMC. If you want to go with the best set up for the money go with uberdata, unlike the SMC or SAFC it allows you to tune ignition independent of fuel. Believe me this makes a big difference.
Heres my vote choice awsome, go with a 190, 450cc injectors, Uberdata= "free" program+chipped obd1 ecu + chip burner, oh and of course a resistor box.

i say if you already have the fmu and 255 lph fuel pump, use it. thats what im going to do until i can afford hondata and an obd1 ecu and a conversion harness
but yes btw........
fmus will not get you the most power and are merely a cheap way of doing something, or thats what i have learned that by searching here on honda-tech, anyway!

Uberdata is a free program, just get your ecu chipped and buy a burner.. I did it for a while before I went to the AEM EMS..
