DSM Injector and Fuel Management help needed
Im getting ready swap a D16Y8 Motor/Trans/ECU Into my GF's 96 DX Coupe. Ill also be installing a custom turbo kit which consists of the following...
CRX HF Manifold
Custom 14B adapter Flange
1G DSM 14B Turbo (Internall wastegate set at 10 PSI)
Golden Eagle Manufacturing Oil Feed Sandwich adapter/Oil return line kit
Custom 2.5 inch Down Pipe
Custom 25 x 6 x 2.75 IC
Custom IC Piping
Turbo XS Type S BOV
DSM 440cc Injectors
88-91 CRX Injector Resistor Box
Now, heres where Im stuck... What would be the best method of fuel management and injector control?
Option 1.
I was given the idea of converting to an OBD1 P28 ECU and running a Uberdata tuned ECU. With Uberdata I will be able to run the DSM 440cc injectors with out the common AFC hack, Id be able to tune Fuel/Ignition curves, set VTEC engagement and rev limiters and It would also have a Boost Timing Retard function built in. The only downside is that I have no idea how to use Uberdata nor do I have any tuning experience. To make it worse, I called around all the tuning facilities here in So'Cal and not a single one of them new about Uberdata and wouldnt even consider taking a shot at tuning with it.
Anybody know of a Uberdata friendly tuning facility/Shop in So'cal?
If possible Id like to go with this the Uberdata option but its looking to be a difficult task to accomplish.
Option 2.
This seems to be the easier of the 2 but at the same time looks to be the lesser of the 2 in terms of tuning potential and reliability.
My other option is to run a VAFC for the DSM injectors with a Vortech 12:1 FMU, FPR and an MSD BTM to top it all off. I will be piggy backing off a stock 97 EX ECU and tuning via the VAFC.
Would there be any real advantage to running the Uberdata? If so is there anyone who could point me in the right direction in terms of a Uberdata Tuner in SoCal?
Any thoughts, opinions or suggestions are greatly areciated
