B series + heavy boost, HEAD???
I ran a search and i am still undecided! motor is a B18C1
I plan on making over 400whp on pump gas, and my question to you guys is what should i do with the head. I am having the bottom end sleeved and bored decked and honed, (who is doing it is not important because i dont want opinions on this, lol) What should i do with the head? I want something real mild, nothing spectacular or anything.
I was thinking springs and retainers for sure, but anything else i need to add? Please help me out on this!
Thanks

I would do a set of mild cams (maybe even ITR cams) and cam gears as well you could get the head ported and such but I just doubt that would help a whole lot. If you go the money have the exhaust side reworked ie. bigger valves ported out good cams. this will help with spool up time.
from what i have read....gsr cams are better then type r cams for a turbo application....therefore if u were to get a set of cams...i wouldn't go with itr...get a set of turbo cams..just my 2 cents....
With turbo most ppl dont do too much to the head. GSR cams are proven to make alot of power. Stiffer springs and retainers will help hold the boost.
Your probably better off getting a good intake manifold.

stainless exhaust valves will help prevent any damage that may occur from the high-heat of turbocharged applications, BUT, if the engine is tuned properly, you shouldnt have to worry about this. A stock head will easily flow enough for 400whp, there are several guys on STOCK engines in the mid-300s. Yes STOCK.
