Default smc+ vs S-afc ??

should I swap my SMC+ for a S-afc?? whats the pros and cons of each?

im running a T25 on a B18B@8psi

I'm not planning to go any higher in boost, 8psi is just perfect for me and my wallet. I do have a acouple of problem with my setup, like in low throtle I have hesitation and my idle runs erraticly, sometimes it even stalls. Full throttle there is no problem of hesitation whatsoever. I never lean in boost. What is the cause, my fuel management or my ignition? I might plan to buy an MSD btm6, but if it's only the FMU, let me know. Thanks

I have had both. Lemme Tell ya.. AFC > SMC Id take my AFC over the SMC anyday. My turbo setup ran 10x better on the AFC. Its also Much easier to change/view settings, plus the AFC can log.. Only pro the SMC has is price, but you get what ya pay for..

you should maybe tune it a bit more, and keep the smc+.

i'm not sure what the best version of the SMC is, but from what i've heard.. it's less of a hassle than the AFC.. and since you already have the SMC why get rid of it?

cause I have an erratic idle and hesitation on part throtle (the car bugs when I'm not WOT)
I dont know if I can tune it properly, anyway thie spring I'm going to put Arias pistons in, and an MSD BTM. I will have to tune from scratch again.

Is it possible to get rid of the hesitation problem with only the hack???

no,, no fmu

-b18b1 (stock internals for now) burn oil like hell, thats why I get it rebuild this spring with forged pistons
-450cc talon injector
-turbo T25 (8psi)
- GSR tranny
-SMC+

I would suspect your injectors for your idle problem. I originally used some C&B'd dsm 450's and had a very rough idle. Then i tried saturated 550's from viren (b18bturbo), run -45% at idle and have never had a problem. I think the key was switching to saturated over peak&hold. -Mike
