intercooler piping, hard??
i've always seen people trying to sell pipes or sites selling pipes on sites "made for intercoolers" but you still have to cut n fab yourself. But arent they still just pipes couldnt you just go to home depot buy yourself some mandrel bent piping and DIY? is it that hard? or is there something i dont know about.
DIY, twice the quality at half the price. Buy 304 series mandrel bent stainless steel bends from JC whitney or mcmaster carr. Jegs sells the cheaper 409 series and their 2.5" mandrel is IMO not a true mandrel. However, their pipes are very cheap but not as polished as the master pieces. You get what you pay for. Then buy some 3 or 4 ply couplers with t-bolt clamps. Or do what I did and put tacks on the pipes for the couplers to slip over and then clamp it down. Its held 25 psi so far.
Do you have the link you got your pipes from on mcmastercarr? I have the one fo jcwhiteny but i thin ktheir piping is too small of a gauge, i'd like as little weight for piping as possible.

I got mine from JEGS. Its a 2.5" mandrel bent U pipe and I only needed one piece. It actually necks down to 2.25" in the middle, which I was not pleased about. However in the end it actually did not affect anything. I bought a 2.5" straight piece from mcmaster carr, and its VERY thick. Allmost twice as thick as teh JEGS piece. If you want good looks, you allmost have to go with the mcmaster pieces, they are awsome, but heavy. I spend a fair amount of time in front of a wire wheel making those JEGS pipes look decent. They just take a little prep time. Stainless steel is the way to go though, its just pimp.
Here is the link to the JEGS pieces:

would be good if i needed intake piping but all i need is from turbo to IC and IC to intake pipe not the intake piping itself so looks like ill just custom it and hopefully there wont be to many complicated bends. i hear pple use some kind of diseal type silicon couplers(sp?) to tie the pipes together any idea where i could find some?

I'm actually using this for my upper charge pipe and had my bov welded to it. Looks pretty good. And the rest are mandrel bends from JCWhitney.
