you can boost 12-14psi, depending on how rich you want to run, because the more signal you trim out of the MAP the more boost you can run, but also the leaner you run. there are alot of threads on this if you do a search.

ok i know pretty much what an FMU does but what does a SAFC really do? i would think it would be simpler to tune than a VAFC since im not gonna be dealing with rev limits and vtec engagement

Could you really use the safc with the fmu? Would that be much safer?

save money and buy the smc, its so much easier to use on the fly, all you have to do is hit the program button. with all the money you save you can buy a wideband o2 and tune it better on the street. also on the timing issue either get an msd btm or just retard the ditributor like 3 gegrees. i would go half a degree every pound of boost.

I hear ppl saying afc hack works but is there anyone willing to tell me their Hi/LO readings for 1-7K rpm??? I have been asking HELP about my afc setting with 440cc injectors with intank pump and no one seems to know or help? Ppl say it works but have they really tried it for themselves or heard others saying that it really works? I am running the afc and I'm ******* throwing codes and my exhaust fumes smell really rich.. I have it my settings HI/LO 1-4k at -50%, -50%, -48%, -45%. and 5-7K from -40 to -35%. trottle HI/LO = 72/71. What the hella is wrong with my setup???? Can anyone HELP?????

Yes. The SMC is one of the best pieces I have used on my turbo setup. 1/2 the cost of the AFC, with the same function and ease of use. You don't get the pretty bright blue screen, but I don't care. Tuning is a piece of cake, and installation is easy enough for my 9 year old nephew to do. Zip is the man, and his piece is truly amazing. You can get one at http://www.diabloautosports.com for like $111 I think, + s/h. I got mine for $89 when it was first introduced, but I would easily pay $125 for what it does and how professionally it was built. to Zip for this alternative to the SAFC hack.

Dr. I wish I could help you. W/ the SMC I had my fuel settings at 42%, 37%, 34%, 34% across the board (idle-1500; 1500-4k, 4k-6k, 6k+)...the SMC took care of the rest. Good luck getting everything running okay..once you do, you'll be amazed at the power increase over being untuned.

[EDIT]

Here's a link directly to it:

They're up to $114.95 now, well worth it still IMHO

well i wont know about the differences cuz i aint gonna be driving untuned

i found a guy who put a turbo'd H22 into a civic and is running 10lbs daily driven and very frequently track driven and says hes been running it for a long time with just an AFC and a missng link and has had no problems

and i like the pretty blue screen lol

stick to the fmu... and tune it out with the safc. try the hack... it works for some... not for others. so far the smc has had good reviews... maybe you can try that out.
