Default For all you turbo prelude's help

I have A 95 lude VTEC I am current running a drag gen 4 setup, AEM Fuel rail, DSM 450 injectors, E-manage, Greddy E-01, and vortec FMU. But I am still getting detonation..... what should I set my timing at? -7 or so? How should I go about not getting detonation? Suggestions please...

You usually want to retard your timing only about 2 degrees from stock.

How much boost are you running when you detonate and how do you know you are detonating?

I am only able to boost about 5psi, and it has like a slight pinging noise when boosting.

What plugs are you running? Did you gap them to .028 - .030?

I should have mentioned this earlier, but the plug i recommend is the NGK NGK BCPR7ES (part #3330).

If you are running the bkr7e's you should be ok and that is not why you are detonating... but I would recommend running the bcpr7es in the near future.

suggestion is to sell ALL your fuel mgmt stuff. sell p13. get hondata s100 on p72 or similar.

or at leats get rid of the fmu and run the hack,

or at LEAST go to the dyno and have them tune it.

btw-do you have a msd btm or similar to retard w/boost(which is not need w/hondata, so you can sell that also)

eww what a mess.. get rid of the FMU and the missing link/check valves if you have them. and retune. definitely invest in a wideband O2. DSM 450cc with the stock fuel pressure/pump is enough the make you run extremely rich. at 6k rpm and above i'm at -39 on the afc with an afr of 11.5... so that's how rich h22's run. as far as timing i'm only at -4 degrees and have no sign of detonation.

I have a walbro fuel pump, Just took off the FMU but still haven't started the car (Its Raining). I also have a p72 here that I can hook up, Should I or would it run to lean? waiting for my friend to come over with a timing light so I can change the timing manualy.
(Where can I get a Wideband o2 at?) best place??? I just welded a second O2 Bung on to my downpipe.

not sure if it'll run lean or not. it all depends on your settings. start out at a setting where you're absolutely sure it'll rich and lean it out... while checking your spark plugs. if it's full black (with soot) then you're rich beyond 10afr. lean it out untill there's no more soot on the spark plug.

imo.. the techedge wb is the best deal out there. http://www.wbo2.com
