Default turbo problems

So i was at the track the other day wih my "new to me" greddy kit and wasnt looking for times as i was looking for trap speed because i have a stock clutch that needs replacing. i have a d16y7 and had the boost at 5 psi intercooled. trap speed was 90mph @16.2 with a 2.7 60' (the clutch is slipping badly)

my question is, does this mph sound right and if so with tuning and 10 psi what should i hope for mph wise.

also, i have a MBC and i screwed the screw all the way in and it wouldnt boost above 5 psi. im not sure why but figured this is the place to go for an answer. any help will be greatly appreciated.

Whoa!! you have a MBC and you screwed it shut and it wouldn't boost over 5psi!! you've got problems there!! if you had done that the boost should of sky rocketed!! check for leaks and definately change the clutch. good luck...sorry i couldn't help too much, gotta go eat a late dinner!!

Thats about right for a totally screwed in manual boost controller. that should be the default setting on your wastegate. (totally screwed in)

on my turboxs manual boost controller every full 360 degrees (counterclockwise or open) is 1 pound more above the wastegate setting.

2.5 inch dp and exhaust. greddy manifold and turbo.

the problem i have is when we frist had the kit on the mbc was set at 10 psi and i turned it down to 5 until i got the intercooler, now i cant turn it up.

also, i have a homemade mbc, i was thinking of getting a joe p? controller because it has a spring and ball inside. mine doesnt. could someone explain how this works??
