snapped a wheel bolt!
oh man, i went to replace my front rotors and pads, and when i was taking the wheel off, i snapped my wheel bolt clean off. im guessing the only way to fix this is to replace the whole front hub. anyone done this before? do i have to completely disassemble the knuckle and wheel bearing out of it, or will it just unscrew off somehow? cause if i have to take out the wheel bearing, ill need a press machine, which i dont have. i dont feel like replacing the rotors until i get a new wheel hub. ill probably have to drill out the old rotor screws anyways (WTH was honda thinking when they came up with that) so im not replacing the hub until i get a new one. i dont feel like doing that twice. ugh. any other suggestions?
On my '95 GS-R you have to take the steering knuckle off, then press the hub out from the wheel bearing. This destroys the wheel bearing so you need a new one.
Then you just press the wheel stud out & press in the new one...

great, well that figures, i just had that wheel bearing replaced! i had that done at a shop since i dont have a press machine. im gonna see if the shop i take it too sometimes can do it for me. then again, i wonder if i can just tap the bolt out withought removing the hub assembly totally. im gonna have to pull it off tommorow and figure it out. thnx for the info though!
I will look into this at the shop tomorrow. If it's setup the way I think it is, you just have to pull off the bearing cap and slide the hub off. I'm not sure so don't quote me on that. Give me some time to look into it. Oh BTW where are you located, maybe you could come by my shop?

When you get the steering knuckle off, you'll see what I mean. I think some years there was enough room to get the studs out. (You still don't say what year you have.)
When you press the hub out of the bearing, usually the inner race of the outboard bearing comes out with the hub. That's what destroys the bearing. If you're lucky, it'll stay together.
