Default Wheel Bearing ????

A little while ago my steering wheel was shaking when I braked and I found out my wheel bearing had gone bad when I was getting my alignment done. I replace the bearing and replaced all my brake rotors & pads. Shaking gone. I heard some squeeking on the wheel I changed the wheel bearing and the noise was coming from my dust shield but I check to see if I could move my wheel and there is a little play in it.

How much play/movement is safe with the wheel bearings. My other side has no play/movement and I think it may be the spindle assembly I got from the junkyard is bad. What could be causing my brand new bearing to go bad. Any suggestions/help is greatly appreciated.

First there should be no movement of the wheel when it is in the air and your are trying to move it. Likely things, tie rod, and ball joint. If the hub is damaged then a new wheel bearing will do nothing for the wheel movement.

When I took the hub off there was no visible damage. I will check out the lower ball joint to see if that is the problem. I will check the tie rod too, but I don't think that is the problem. Thanks.
