Default Question about octane for high compression?

I have a built B20 vtec with 11.5:1 compression.

My question is:

Would it be wise to use 91 octane gas from a good gas station (ie shell, chevron, etc) or should I use 92 octane from no name gas station?

Both are about the same price...

91 is safe to use up to 12:1....u shouldn't have any problems.

will it be of any benefit to run the 92 octane from no-name gas station rather than 91 from shell?

What no-name station has 92? You could always use octane booster or buy a barrel of Cool Blue 100 from 76 and blend it to get a little higher octane rating from 91 pump gas.

Since you live in the Bay Area....

On the corner of Berryessa & Capital Ave there are three gas station. Its not AM/PM or Valero. Its the other one. I can't recall the name right now.

All other pumps are rated at 91 except for 1 pump rated at 92 octane.

use octane booster, it makes the difference in my ride, running roughly 11.96 c/r on 91 octane. When I'm not on it.. the car motor jsut seems like a waste of money... get the point
