Default is it true that CALIFORNIA doesn't have 92-93 octane gas?

WTF i plan on driving down to have my motor build there in socal. I was told my my brother inlaw that CAL doesn't have 93 octane like Minnesota.

My motor will be 11:1 cr that is why i asked... no for some stock D16 hehehe

He's right the highest octane available in cali is 91, one option is to add octane booster though.

i pump 91 at chevron here in norcal...very hard to find anything else around here at the pumps

man... anyone know the how to calculate mixtures of 91octane and the right amount of octane booster? i don't want to burn my o2.

you can find 92 at some stations, but 90% only have 91. you should be able to run on 91 if your compression is only 11.1

CHarlie...why drive 3 days down there to have them build it when you can send it down there....I would rather spend the couple hundred than driving down there....

And with tuning, 91 is no problem

only 87, 89, and 91 octane here in cali...its sucks ***...we dont even have 92 at ANY gas stations anymore, they just stopped distributing 92 a few months ago. the highest he get now is 91

its not like we can afford 92 anyway. 87 gas right now in cali is practically $10 per gal.

well i'm going down there anyways why not have my motor build and installed there where part are some-what cheaper and easyer to find. Also more knowledgable people there than up here in MN

i actually saw a 92 octane pump not too long ago. it seemed weird im so used to seeing 91 now.

i was just in san jose on business.......i am from nyc. here its around $1.89-$2.09 per gallon in nyc for super 93 octane, but when i went to SJ, CA....man, it was $2.35+ for super 91 octane!
