Default Greddy sohc 10 psi...

I'm trying to get my car to run a steady 10 psi and I haven't had any luck so far. My best time so far is a 13.62 @ 98.99 with a 1.92 sixty foot on drag radials. I'm also running the afc hack with dsm injectors.

As the turbo spools up, it will go to 10 psi, but then falls down to 7 psi. Whatever gear I am in, it will spool to 10 psi but then steadily drop at about 4800-5000 rpms. So, when I run at the track or wide open, it will spool in first and hit 10 psi for a split second, but from there on out, it stays at 7 psi because the turbo pretty much stays spooled up and doesn't hold 10 psi steadily.

My first boost controller was a Greddy Profec. I didn't like it because it would spike all the time. I switched to a manual boost controller and thats what I'm running now.

I'm guessing that I have to play around with the internal wastegate so I was just wondering if anyone has done this or had the same problem as me before I mess with it. I already checked the bov and pressure isn't leaking from there. If anyone has any experience or advice for me, all is appreciated. Also, what do you guys have your vtec crossover set at for the sohc's? H->L and L->H.

Nice times, what body style is your car?

About the manual boost controller: to get boost to hold - instead of running the vaccuum line off the compressor housing of the turbo, you need to run it off the intake manifold. When I had a Turbo XS boost controller, I did that and it held. Now I have a profec.

As for VTEC x-over, I have mine set to 5200 rpms.

If I could, I wouldn't think twice about it.

yea running the wg vac line to the mani mite give u better results. i'm running the hallman mbc and my vac line is still off the compressor but i usually only spike like 1 psi above what i set it and then it settles down rite away. most people have said good things about the profec b but i guess different results with diff setups. i mite be getting an old hks evc soon. should allow me to preset 3 boost levels
i'll let you know how it performs if i get it. good luck

nice times man. As for the solution to your problem, I really can't help you, but I know it's obtainable. ( is that a word ) . Anyway, one of my boys has a 2k civic Ex with the Greddy kit with the GS-R turbo, and he's running 10 psi, and it's working wonders for his car. He posted a best of 13.22 at 103 at 10psi on drag radials. Good luck. I will know start to understand more when I get my kit installed around the 1st of August.
