Re: greddy profec b 2 settings? (AznInvasion)
here ya go. i dont know of any way better to explain it:
if you have a 5.5 psi spring then the max you can boost is found out by this:
5.5 psi x 2 = 11psi take half of that which is 5.5 and add it to 11 psi which = 16.5 psi.
so the max you can boost is 16.5 psi that is your wastegate springs limit for full boost.
so on this greddy profec b the first setting is changed just by turning the ****. the range is from 0-100 percent. this can be interpreted as a percent of yout max boost which is 16.5 psi ok? so say you want to boost 10 psi for example.... you need to calculate what percent of 16.5 = 10 psi. so if 0 % = 0 psi then that means 100 % = 16.5 psi right? so if you want to boost 10 psi then you need to find out what percent of 16.5 psi = 10 psi......
so we discover that 61 % of 16.5 psi = 10.065 psi thats close enough.
set your SET boost ( turn the ****) to 61%
leave the gain @ 10 for now (play with that later to help if it spikes)
now the 3rd setting SETBOOST (setting right after GAIN) this is read in PSI. so if is displays 103 you can interpret that as 10.3 psi ok? and you want this setting set as close to your very first setting of 61 % which is also known as 10 psi.
so since your first setting is @ 61% AKA 10 PSI then you would probably want to have your 3rd setting SETBOOST set @ 90 or AKA 9.0 psi.
hope that helps and remember that this is for a wastegate spring of 5.5 psi
if yo have a different size wastegate spring find out the MAX limit by using the procedure mentioned first above in my post and then figure out everything else accordingly

well me and about 4 other people have ried this and it does work.
make sure your vacuum hoses are connected right!!!!!
the COM sideof your solonoid shoudl go to top port of the wastegate and the NO side should be TEEd intothe vacuum line going fromyour turbo compressor to the side port of the wastegate..... make suire you dont have any broken vac lines or any leaks.
when i tried the settings i mentioned above the first 2 times they didnt work and i got really frustrated and couldnt figure out why until i got thevac hoses right and even then it still didnt work because i found a cracked VAC hose.
if you usethe settings exactly as above with the VAC lines done the proper way with good vac lines then you shouldboostexactly what you want.
remember you CANNOT boost below your stock wastegate spring (if you havea 7 psi spring you cant boost below 7 psi )
good luck

Car shutting off! That's not good. What kind of EMS are you using? Any check engine lights?

could be boost cut. my tuner put a 15 psi boost cut on my hondata when he tuned it and never told me. and when i over boosted a couple times the car fell flat on its face. i got scared until i found out what it was.

I have 1bar spring in my wg and all I can turn up max is 25-26 psi.
By your calculation, I should be maxing at 45 psi. </TD></TR></TABLE>
check your spring and make sure its the right one.
also check and see if you have any leaks. if there are any kind of leaks that will cause you not to boost higher as well.
and blue bullet the unsed port onthe aolonoid leave it open dont plug it up

right now im running my turbo off the tial wastegate w/ just the spring it boosts to about 8psi so im guess i have an 8psi spring, correct or not???
i have the turbo compressor line blocked off because im running a vacuum manifold right now, and ive read that a vacuum manifold off the brake booster will give you better vacuum signal then the turbo, is that correct?? and since i have it configured like that is it ok to run the vacuum lines like this, * COM side of soloniod to top of tial wastegate, and then NO side of soloniod to the vacuum manifold? and then leave the the bottom side of the wastegate hooked up as is to the vacuum manifold?? thanks for the help i would really like to get this EBC hooked up so turn the boost up..

Re: greddy profec b 2 settings? (AznInvasion)
I have the same problem. I have a .6 bar spring in 38mm tial wg so i can't boost less than 9 psi, right? yet i'm boosting 6-7 psi max.
I have a vacumm manifold as well but havn't hooked it up yet.
Is this the correct wiring methods?
COM goes to top port of wastegate and NO goes to vacum manifold?
Also if that's true, what's the purpose of the side port on the wg?
