Default greddy 18g boost spikes...look here..

Well I originally started with your typical 6-7 psi boost range with maybe 1 psi spike, then moved to 9 psi with about a 1.5 psi spike....Now currently running 11 psi, I am getting 2 psi spikes...I know this is cause the internal gate and all, but can any greddy owners tell me if they are running more boost than this ,and what kind of spikes they are getting???Just tying to get an idea of what I am in for at higher boost levels since the turbo seems to be spiking more and more as the boost levels rise...

As you up the boost, you make it that much harder for the wastegate to regulate flow. I hope you've got the fuel for 14psi+..

no **** huh?????Thats awesome man, I was under the impression that I could not prevent the internally wastegated 18g from spiking a pound or two...What did the profec cost?????I am guessing easy install correct? Thanks

I bought the whole turbo set up and the boost controller came with it. I didn't install it when I put the kit on I ran 8psi for awhile then wanted more. the boost controller is very very easy to install. a power, gound, and vaccum lines that is about it. you should be able to pick up a profec b pretty cheap on here

Still getting spikes @15psi? I get spikes to 18psi when I set it to 15 then as rpms increase toward redline the boost goes from 14-15-13 dam gate won't hold steady . I'm about to go external, any suggestions anyone?

switch over to an external wastegate-no more spikes roydogg how much are you looking to spend on one, delta-gate is pretty cheap and works fine for me(some people don't like these) or you can go with a more expensive tial wastegate...

You can't convert to an external WG with the greddy manifold can you?

I shortened up the vacc line from the mbc to the wg along with some more fooling with the mbc, and now I can boost up to 15 psi with only a psi or so of a spike...

I wanna go external but what manifold would I get? I probaly have to fool around with the duty cycle on my avcr or I'll just buy a 1.0bar actuator .

you can have the internal wg housing port ported, that usually helps a bit if your up in the higher boost range

Would I have to upgrade the flapper?

Try Forced Performance, or SLOWBOY Racing, they have wastegate flappers and can port the housing.
