No, it will not fit into the LS tranny. (the ITR LSD).

What is the car primarily used for, autocross/street/strip?

What is keeping it from fitting? Is it the I.D. of the ring gear like the other b-series differences?

1. square peg, round hole? Doesn't matter why, it's just not going to happen.

2. If he's broke (with a LS swap I would say yes) tell him to get a Phantom Grip.

What the hell is that supposed to mean? That's the dumbest thing I've seen on H-T in awhile. Some people prefer non vtec.

Don't tell people it won't fit unless you know this.

I know it will fit.. but you may need some other gearing components to make it work.

The question was "will a typeR limited slip fit in a LS tranny????"

NOT "will a typeR limited slip fit in a LS tranny with the addition of ITR parts?"

We answered the question - besides R 5th gear mated to a B18B1 would not be the greatest.

I dont know for sure, but I would guess it fits.

Im currently running the ITR lsd in a B16 tranny. All I needed was the ITR ring gear. But I believe the LS has a different final gear ratio. So as stated before it sounds like you would have to switch over to the different final drive (shaft and ring gear) So it would probably end up being cheaper to get a Quaife, unless you can score the parts from somebody who has done the JDM final drive in their R.

If you want to get literal that's ok with me.

He also said "any info would help alot".. so considering he said that.. why don't you explain WHY it wouldn't fit instead of telling him it won't?

Thanks for the correct technical answer, the LS housing is different and cannot accomodate the extra parts that the ITR unit has.

Well, the answer was given, everyone is happy, and another HT thread ends on a good note Didn't mean to go on the offensive...

Hey thats helpful ******* moron. How about explaining why it wont fit instead of being a smartass? This is precisely why H-T is going down the *******, because of fucktards liek yourself.
