Default TPS problem. I can't stop the cels. Could it be bad???

I have had this problem forever and I just need to fix it already. I set the TPS voltage to .45 at idle and it idles up and down steady between 300 rpm and 1500 rpm. I set it at around .675 and it idles good, but it throws a TPS cell. Also, on the a/f guage at .675 the lights go off the chart like they should towards lean. When I have it at .45 it stays rich when I let off the gas. The only reason I have it set at .675 is because it seems to run the best there. Could this be a bad TPS? What else would cause this? Another thing is on my AFC the tps voltage is different than the voltage I get from my Fluke at the TPS. Why are they different? I have tried setting it to spec by both the Fluke and the AFC with no luck. I tried moving it slightly every time I wnet for a drive and I still couldn't find the right spot. Please help me. I'm going to go crazy.

BTW the car is a 94 Civic with a D15B7 running 10 psi. I also have an STR 68mm throttle body. Don't think that is the problem becasue it has done this long before I bought that throttle body.

TPS's flake out all the time. If you have another one laying around then throw it in and see what happens. I went through 3 of them before I got a good one.

I'll have to try getting a new one. I always thought as long as it is in one piece and is still reading voltage it is good? Thanks for the reply.

All mine were calibrated and read good votage but under heat or constant votage they sometimes flake out. If you have to order one, chek junkyards since you have to buy a whole TB to get the tps from honda. I have one if your desperate, just let me know.

How much do you want? The only junkyard here wouldn't have a Honda anything in it. Maybe a couple Fords and a few chevy's. Are you sure the one you have is good? I'd hate to buy another junk part(see sig).

Yep, I have two good ones left. PM me your address, i'll send you one and if it fixes your problem then you can paypal me a couple of bucks to cover shipping later. If it doesn't fix it or doesn't work for some reason just keep it no charge. I have to ship out a part monday morning anyway so just let me know.

Hello I also need a TPS. If you'd like to sell your other good one I would like it but I understand if you wish to keep it. Thanks

Dude its the STR throttle body man, I had the same fucken problem for two weeks. I was told to play with the tps sensor, and adjust the butterfly from opening too much are too little and it sticks. Trust me I got rid of it after even purchasing a voltage meter to set it correctly, does not work. Your idle probably jumps from 1500-2900 huh, dude it was fucken annoying. I got a jg edelbrock and it came with the tps sensor mounted. All I had to do was install it and ran the fluid hoses and boom, it starts up at 900-1000 rpm sweet. Spoon is good too, they also set the tps, and the map sensor on the throttle body. STR sucks *****.
