DAMN bolt on downpipe keeps backing out.........
We'll the last time I installed my DRAG downpipe, I tightened 4 bolts and forgot to even attempt the fifth bolt which is the hardest. You know the one that's stuck with the downpipe for life! So after hearing it rattleing, I let the car cool overnight and the next morning I was able to turn it in by hand then tighten it with a wrench. Later in the day it backed out, so I do it over again the next morning. STILL, the damn thing backed out. I'm like wtf? I know it's not stripped.
Any ideas?
Does anyone know of some type of thread locker that can handle the high temps of a downpipe? I looked into Loctite, and no luck.
Thank's!

I have blue Loctite in the garage and on the back of the package it had nothing that would hold a downpipes heat range. I'll go buy some and give it a shot though!

Instead of using a bolt, try using a stud and nut to hold the downpipe on. You can even use a lock nut to hold it on even better. I had to stud my exhaust housing and use nuts when my downpipe bolts started backing off.
If you want to save alot of stress, spend the extra change and get V-Band, you will thank yourself in the longrun.

u dont wanna use locktite, that **** is strong, u wouldnt be able to get it off when u want to, instead try using a little clear silicone, just put some on the inside of the nut and screw it on, should be fine, if u sue locktite, u might not be able to get it back off with it being in a difficult place.

I wouldn't mind doing that, but it looks nearly impossible to get a nut onto the stud on this particular part of the flange. If you have seen a DRAG downpipe, you may already know of the bolt that comes with the downpipe.
And yes I would LOVE to have a V Band clamp, and I plan on doing that when I start my new setup.
