*i searched* Anyone running w/o a bolt on a 5 bolt downpipe.
I just got my downpipe put on my turbo. This crappy drag dp is not working. First I had to notched out most of the holes. Then the bottom one wont work. A stud will be to long ot really really short. I am thinking of running without a bolt. Anyone doing this and any problems yet??

My fifth bolt is actually a stud, and I use a modified nut (brass) because I don't have clearance for a regular nut. I have to tighten it about every 3 months. It leaks a minute amount.

Re: (SleepyEG)
the drag downpipe usually comes with a bolt already on the bottom hole. some bolt holes on the turbine housing actually threads through into the housing.. so depending on which holes you bolt up you will have leaks.

I have been running with 4 of 5 bolts and had BAD exhaust leaks... I tried copper RTV, and STILL had leaks... So I went to Home Depot and got a piece of Copper Flashing for roofing.
AND THEN I traced out the pattern of the downpipe flange onto it, and cut it out with TinSnips.
AND THEN I couldn't cut a perfect circle, so i got it as close as I could,
AND THEN I took a hammer, and hammered the flashing to bend it into the downpipe hole so it was rounded.
AND THEN I put a thick coat of Copper RTV onto the turbine outlet & the downpipe flange,
AND THEN I smooshed them together,
AND THEN I tightened the bolts as tight as I could.
AND THEN I let it sit for 24 hours like the directions on the RTV said.
AND THEN I still have a TINY exhaust leak from where the 5th bolt would be, but not loud enough to notice.
AND THEN!
No and then
AND THEN!
NO AND THEN!
P.S. I also used flange hex bolts instead of standard hex bolts to get that extra bit of torque.
