What tap to use on a oil feed line off the back of the block? I need to tap it..

 

did you already screw something in it and screw it up? it's an 1/8 bspt thread. if you use any other type of fitting you will strip it out or if you try to tighten the crap out of it. many people strip it out trying to force a 1/8 npt male fitting into it. if you are wanting a fitting for it sunpro and autometer make 1/8 bspt male to 1/8 npt female fittings so that you can run your oil lines.

 

No i didnt screw it up. Yet lol i hope i dont i have a whole set of snap on tap and die kit. has alot of differant ones. Thank for your help i gonna look and see if i have it i should.

you need a BSPT to NPT adapter, you don;t need to tap anything, as amatter fact, DON'T. Not when the motor is still in. if you;re having any problem, let me know

use pretty much those parts, but i would mount the t on the firewall and just run a line to the bspt adapter to relieve weight/stress on the mount in the block. it also makes it easier to put it in w/o messing it up.

if you have a BSPT adapter, you will not put any stress on the block. if it's the incorrect thread, then yeah, you are putting stress on it.

think about your exhaust manifold or intake manifold or PS bracket. they're all uses a correct thread, therefore, you'll never put too much stress on it

i got about 3 feet of stainless line, but nothing else. Where can i find this adapter that's shown in the pic?? I live about 30 min away from summit, so that's what i was gonna try, but i am unsure what to get. I have a t3/t4 from a drag kit (i think)? do you know what size fitting it is into the turbo. I got my coolant lines and return line figured out, its just this feed line is giving me some trouble.

what is the other one in the picture? not the send line for the turbo, but the other one

will i get an engine code if i disconnect that?

 

Thats for the dummy light on your dash. You can just leave it disconnected. By the time that light goes on, your engine is probably already gonna be damaged anyhow. Most people leave it hooked up tho.

what is the smallest ss oil line to use on a turbo? i think i bought one too small in diameter

 

-3 or -4 is what most people use

 

i';d suggest using the GE oil feed/vtec kit...make it ALOT easier....lil more pricey..but alot easier..

don't get a sunpro fitting. I got one and when my brother was turning the fitting it broke. thank god it wasn't all the way in.
