Help Removing Shift Linkage!!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!
Im doing this from memory so forgive me if I confuse you.
-Remove your Shift ****.
-Remove two small bolts holding Shifter to floor of car.
-Remove bolt holding shift stabalizer
-Remove clip cover on actual shifting arm (Its small and silver, nezr the tranny)
-Take a small punch and knock out the pen under that clip
Thats to remove the whole thing. Skip one and two if you just want it off the tranny and not out of the car.
Searching will probably provide you with a tutorial of some sort.

I sat there for a good 20mins when we did my swap trying to beat the pin out with a flathead before I finally saw there was a clip on the back of it. I felt dumb.

yup take the clip off and use an 8mm punch and a big fu*#ing hammer to get the "bitch" pin out. Just start wailing on it..it'll come out!
damn, i decided to just leave it in, and let the end dig into the driveway as i lowered the motor...i was beating on it for like 2 minutes, and i lost patience, and said **** it. oh well, the motors all in now!!!

2 minutes?!?!?!?! HA! i hammered on it forever until i decided to pull the engine/tranny with the linkage still attached. THAT was a bitch. when i was re-installing it, i tried forever until it ended up flying over the neighbors house (oops). just do a search for "bitch pin" you'll find MANY results. pretty funny threads, too
I have recently become the master of removing linkage while still attached to the tranny.
You just have to get the car really high and get a spotter to make sure it doesn't shove into the ground and bend.
I'm an expert yo.
I don't even take the bitch pin out ever anymore.
But fyi, you can buy and air chisle for $15 at home depot that will do this job really well.
In and out.

i did leave it in, when i took the motor out, i dropped it out the bottom, so it was no problem, but trying to put the new motor in......damn, i left it on there, jacked the front of the car up, and just lowered the hoist, it made some bad screaching noises as the metal slid across the concrete, but as far as i can tell it didnt actually bend the it. my car looks so happy with a motor in it again!!

just take the linkage off the shifter and the shifter and the beat the clip out of the tranny side and it should fall right out
