Default vtec head

hey guys,

my buddie has a 92 civic vx hatch and apparently it has the economical vtec, anyways, he wants to swap a 92 civic si head and ecu on it for the more powerful vtec

My question is: is it worth it? i mean is it worth swapping the head and ecu, will it make a difference. From what i'v been told it could gain you upto 20hp. is it really worth the hassle. I dont' know how hard a job is it.

anyways, your 2 cents would be appreciated..

thanks,

Blair

That's called the mini me swap
And yup, its worth it, as long as it doesen't xost too much. A D16 VTEC head and ecu shouldn't be too much, seeing as how there's so many of them.

you will have to mess with your harness swaping in some VTEC wires but its not that hard http://tech.hybridgarage.com/ this site is all about swaps you can find out were the 7 extra wires go that you have to add to the harness

it's going to be plug and play. All you're doing is removing a vtec head and putting another on. The wiring should all match up to each other as long as you're using a Z6 head. I would suggest using a Z6 intake manifold as well

Oh, and a stock Z6 exhaust manifold too, unless you have a header

you still need to add wires to your stock harness
