Default Hit the track yesterday= Not so happy!!

well finally hit the track with new set-up. 84mm B18c1, 9:1 cr, JG head +Intake Manifold, Inline pro T4 manifold, Precision T4 60-1, Tial 40mm WG, Power FC. Went to get MPH. ran it on BFG G-Force DR. It ran a 12.9 @118.10 mph on 23 psi with a 2.4 60ft. Since i have no access to dyno, i used a timing map from TurbotypeR (HT member) and wide band a/f at 11.6-11.8 at 23 psi with c16 race gas. i was hoping to pull traps at around 125 with this set up since with the older set up (non sleeved 81mm b18c1 with 9:1 cr, same head + manifold but with a Hotshot T3 manifold and custom fastrax T3/T4) I ran 13.2 @113 mph 0n 15psi).Anybody could tell me what is wrong?

mess with ignition. With c16 i advance my ignnition timing past stock settings even when im running 26 psi. The c16 requires more timing. I normally dont run my car that rich also. Maybe bring it up to 12.2-12.4

You should get your car tuned. Every motor will peform differently even with the same parts. Your best bet is to find a dyno, somwhere, and get it tuned properly. Using someone else's timing map is very dangerous especially at those kind of boost numbers.

HTH and good luck with your setup.

if turbotypeR's map is set up for pump gas, and u ran on C16 that would explain why u r not making the power that u expected. race gas requires more advance.

i agree with everyone and also your gonna have a hard time dialing in good mph numbers on those tires as well. i never saw as good of mph on drag radials vs 25's. get some slicks.

If you could drop that kinda loot on your setup, you can afford a few hours of dyno time and some slicks\skinnies. Handle yer business, heh...

I agree to that. you have all that power, but you wont get full potential if you cant lay it on the ground.

thanks for all your insight into this guys. it surely would be considered. btw, turbotypeR ignition map was set up to run on c16 race gas and i also have another race map from xsengineering but it is too aggressive for my part. thanks again.

Are drag radials at least a decent improvement over normal street tires?

they are a drag radial tire, so as oppose to an all season tire, yes, they are better

TRACTION, look at your 60ft, your traps are easily good enough to put you at almost mid 11's, get your traction down wich will be tough, but on the street you'll MURDER almost anything in a roll on.
