Ok, my turbo kit is just about ready. Ill be putting it all in next week. I've read about 1 billion different recommendations on the timing retard per PSI for a basemap, but I wanted to get one for my specific setup.

Heres my setup:
dc2
stock jdm b16a swap (10.4:1 cr)
garrett t3/t04e 57 trim 63 a/r
spooling performance mani
2.5" A/C dp, closed loop dump
tial 38mm wg
delphi 440cc injectors
ECU chipped w/ crome and AEM UEGO is always on

My goals are a conservative 250whp. Ill be running 7psi to start with and it will be street tuned for now.

You want to do a step retard where you decrease the timing a certain amount for a given range of psi. I would think Crome has a script to do that since Uberdata does.

You know... I've heard good things about using a step retard... but I can't seem to find any real info on how to choose your steps and such.

Have anything that gives a little more detail into the benefits and suggested formats?

Here is Uberdata's default step retard:

0 to 3 psi -0.45 degrees
3 to 5 psi -0.55 degrees
5 to 7 psi -0.65 degrees
7 to 9 psi -0.75 degrees
9 to 30 psi -0.90 degrees

Yeah, about that... Since I will be running the base timing for quite a while, I want to make sure I find a conservative enough starting point, considering my motor is 10.6:1 compression. Of course I can do runs and pull the plugs, which I will, but a nice, safe but not too safe number would be best.
