Default Garrett GT30 Downpipe Size??

The Garrett GT30 uses a T3 exhaust housing, and the flange opening is a little smaller than 2.5". I wanted to run a 3" exhaust, is there any advantage to using a 3" exhaust if the exhaust housing outlet is only 2.5"? Would there potentially be an advantage to using a 2.5" downpipe?? (velocity?)

Also, if I were to go with 3", I would have to mate a 2.5" pipe to the flange, and somehow grow it to 3". How would you go about doing this transition?

Thanks!

Chris

most turbos do not have a 3" outlet..
so running 3" will be fine..
the dp flange is a standard 4 bolt..so you can easily make a straigh 3" exhaust
