Default Turbonetic t3 to4e - 2 1/4 inch exhaust side. What should I do for a 3" downpipe?

Noticing most t3t4 57trim 63ar...

The Diameter are..
COLD SIDE
2 1/2" intake
2" out

HOT SIDE
2 1/4" exhaust out..
-------------------------------------------------------

And was curious about the downpipe, how is it possible to run a 3 inch downpipe, when the flange is a 2 1/4" in diameter? The hole. Should i bore out the diameter, or just leave it like that, and just weld a 3inch piping to the 2 1/4" flange hole?

------------------------- Since my exhaust setup is from resonator back to muffler, is 3inch diameter.

Or had anyone got results and dyno #s from a 2 1/2" down ....inducer/reducer to a 3"? after the AC back? Thanks.......!

WHAT SHOULD I DO@!!! HELP!!

yea i have noticed this as well a lot of turbos the exhaust hole is not 3 in. so why do people run a 3 in down pipe on a turbo that doesnt have a 3 in port in the exhaust

Because Exhaust gases expand and will not back up if theres room to grow...

Thats how i made my downpipe. I picked up a 2.5" -> 3" machined flair from
atpturbo.com. Looks just like the one posted above, except its a 4-bolt. Very
happy with the way it turned out.

Since i have a 4-bolt exhaust housing, there was very little room to bolt the downpipe
on after welding the flair, vband and flange together. I just used some big allen
bolts instead of studs/nuts. Came out beautiful.

hmm, any more information about this v band convertor? I really have no idea how that v band style works. - Sound interesting to do.

Wonder if theres any significant difference, compared from a:

Fully 3" downpipe
and
2.5" flared to 3" downpipe.

Anyone know?

Thanks.

Is it a flare out to 3" or just a straight jump? It looks like there's no taper on that vband adapter.

Or is causing turbulence at the exhaust housing exit a nonissue? I doubt flow is very smooth there anyway... anyone have thoughts?
