Default DP diameter?

hey guys im about to make a downpiep for my turbo setup which consist of a T3/T04E. the exhaust discharge is 2.5" and so is the flange hole. should i use a 2.5" tube for my first bend coming out of the turbo and the expand it to 3" or should i just use 3" tubing from the flange?

just run a straight 3". there is no need to bottle neck it.

i was wondering the same thing, my t3/t04e has like a 2 1/4 inch outlet, is this odd?? the turbo is supposedly a turbonetics, it has a garret housing on the inlet and the exhaust side is the standard t3 with 5 bolt flange.......

well its not like im considering it to restricting it. i figure, since the outlet is 2.5", the 2.5" tubing will better direct the exhaust gases and provide a better transition. well i dont even care anymore cause im to lazy so ill just go with your idea anyways and make it 3"
