Default Built 10.5:1 compression , how much boost?

I got a f22 bottom end fully built with 10.5:1 forged pistons, super tech springs and retainers in an h22 head. I’d really like to hit at least 500hp. I got 2200cc injectors and plan to use e85. This will be a drag car primarily. How high can I boost it safely? I’m using a precision 5831 turbo 58mm 76 trim. I want to get all the power I can out of it without getting too dangerous. Suggestions? Thoughts? I’m

As much as it takes to hit your goal of 500hp?

Check out the Garrett or Borg Warner turbo sites for calculating how much boost will be required based on your engine and turbo selection.

Take a look at garretts site for estimate on compressor maps. It will be different from what you have. But this exercise is to get you an ideal of what it takes. Then report back and a few of us will help you. Id rather not just spoon feed you the info. Want you to try to learn on your own. I figured it out in about 30mins when i was looking.

I just did a quick Google myself

https://honda-tech.com/forums/forced...3122217/page2/

found this. 22 psi 475 ish hp?
granted all results will differ
so I’d assume u yourself will make 450-525whp?? With e85 is my guess idk. But then again. What aboout it’s efficiencies to hold?
I mean quick Google it said rated to 600hp

To do it correctly, you have to plot in a few things following the formula. On race gas, looking to get 500whp, would take about 600hp. Which would mean around 60lbs/min. On a gtw3476r which is a 58mm, i would have to run pressures of about 28.5 psi. Approaching the surge around 34psi.

On 104 octane i made 468whp mustang dyno. 542whp dynojet at 104 octane. No ethanol

600hp is strictly the adibiatic map for the compressor side at the crankshaft. That turbine wheel and its efficiency is another story..

Thanks for the responses. Im probably going to have to get it dyno tuned I guess I’ll just tell the tuner I want all the horsepower I can get, max the turbo efficiency out. Anyone from the New England area ? I don’t know who tunes Honda the best near Maine

Although, its not an exact match, or exact science. It is definitely knowledge someone should have. Especially at those power levels. Your tuner could tell you, your turbo is maxed at 400whp. And you would believe them?

Do you homework

Looking at your other post for a parts list I see the Walbro 255l/hr fuel pump- that will be maxed out before you reach 500hp if using E85. Look to upgrade that. Since you’ll be using E85 you’ll need a large volume of fuel so you’ll probably need a fuel rail and fuel lines for 500hp.
Also as the Shodan replied: Don’t trust your Ebay intercooler for 500HP. They aren’t that good. You can get an intercooler that will handle 500hp for probably $400 such as Garrett. I think it’s worth it.
I haven’t seen much about Traum brand of pistons so I don’t know about those either. Check the rating on them from the manufacturer.
I’m not sure if the OBX exhaust manifold is decent or not. Some OBX products are okay and some fall apart. So you won’t really risk damaging your engine but don’t be surprised if it cracks/leaks.
The 38mm wastegate might be small but since you are trying to get as much boost as you can then boost creep shouldn’t be a negative issue for you.
Overall, I think you can reach 500whp or a little less, but you’ll need to have supporting modifications. I’ll make a guess of 30psi of boost with that turbo.
