Default B20vtec awd ef hatch NA/turbo setup questions

Putting together a build any info and help would me greatly appreciated!!!
B20 block bored to 84.5mm
gsr head. no port/polish
supertech 70lb springs, retainers,keepers
JE pistons 10.1 compression ratio
Compstar h-beam rods
Sk2 pro series intake, 74mm throttle body
b18b1 crank if it matters. Currently assembling my lower end. Properly measuring and whatnot. Pistons going in tomorrow
grams 1000cc injectors
p28, hondata s300
golden eagle b20vtec kit
Aem fuel rail
block guard installed by machine shop prior to bore/hone
thinking about sk2 stage 1 tuner cams after researching
going awd stock crv trans and rear diff.
Hasport mounts
Action stage 2 clutch
Should i get a turbo or not?does this seem solid so far? No idea about turbo brands parts how to's. Thinking all motor or low boost like 10psi or less.
Thanks

It's up to you. There's no YES or NO question to this. It can be done. But I don't like the idea of a B20 Block bored to 84.5 for turbocharging, regardless of some block guard, Even I would suggest the CNC CSS WERX support system over the standard stuff, but.. to each his own.

If you don't have any idea currently about turbo parts or builds, and you're on the fence anyway about N/A vs FI, then I'd highly advise that you keep it simple (and cheaper) and just do a nice NA build. If you stay NA, I'd advise that you get some slightly higher compression pistons like 12:1 if possible.

Sounds like your power goals are relatively modest, and the B20 block would serve you better as an NA platform with a decent amount of low end grunt versus a turbo build.

Yeah i probabaly should. Sucks i already ground my rings and installed my pistons. Probly just run a turbo.... for science. Thanks for the advice though the next motor i build i will keep that in mind!

So contacted the tuner I am going to use and the guy told me to use a 5858 turbo, a PLM ram horn manifold, and advised me to run a methanol injection setup to keep combustion temperatures down. Going to put this build into my 2000 crv to get it up and running until I complete my hatch. What you guys think 🤔. Also picked up a hondata 4 bar map sensor, PLM tps and AEM wideband. Probly going to go with tial wastegate and blow off valve and precision journal bearing turbo AEM methanol kit looks nice too

Hey little update... the crv has taken quite a bit of fabrication but has come together nicely. Started for the first time and ran good. Trying to get it idling and ignition timing set so I can get it ready for a real high quality tune. My bad this motor was meant for my 91 hatch but this is a trial run going to start out on 7psi wastegate spring (F'd up the boost control portion of ECU). Update of full tune. May get dyno'd as well. I'm local to the SeaTac area 🤔

Cool update, and great to hear that the engine has been assembled and found a home. Good luck with the tune!
