Default Turbo B16A Setup? Help...

Ok. I searched but haven't found alot. I'm pretty new to the whole turboing thing. I was always an all motor guy but turbo sounds fun now. My goal is 300-400 whp. I was wondering what compression pistons I should run. I don't plan on changing the displacment of the engine. What sleeves are good up to the HP i'm wanting? Also who has good turbo cams? I've been all motor so long I have no clue what is good in the turbo arena. So help me change my ways. Also injectors, fuel managment. Hell just if you have a setup like this or know a website or someone who does. Give me some help. I'd greatly appreciate it. I plan on driving this quite often. So I want something reliable. Money isn't a big deal but of course the less I spend the better. So let me know. Thanks.

I'd run some 9:1 pistons. Go with besnon sleeves (talk to earl). Use GSR cams for turbo. And for fuel management use hondata or aem, and a set of 550cc injectors or larger. your choice of course.

Are you going full diy or do you want someone to do it for you?

Welp it depends on how much cash you got, and what you want your end results to be, if you want the best check out lovefab,full-race,inlinepro, in no particular order.
You can make that power on the stock block, even on the stock pistons (I don't reccomend it) What compression pistons and what kind are they, cause with a thicker gasket, and good tuning you may be able to keep them.

cheap way to go:
Stock Block
Thicker gasket
T3/4 turbo or kit such as Drag, Max Rev, etc
550 injectors or higher
hondata s100b or s200b, or uberdata
boost guage
fuel pressure gauge

More loot
Piston and rods, I prefer JE rods and CP pistons
Turbo SC61 precision
720 injectors
Hondata or AEM EMS, or Uberdata
guages

Have Cash to spend:
Ge or besen sleeves,
Full Race, crower, Pauter rods
JE, CP, Full race pistons
Valves and retainers
Full-Race, Inlinepro, turbo kit
800+injectors
AEM EMS, Hondata,

I'm sure I'm missing sumtin, I'm not gonna lie, I am a newby when it comes to boost. I have been researching and the partial kit I have is similiar to the first one I listed.

Good Luck, and I'm sure you could get more help if you listed what you have now, and what you have to spend, as well as your ability to do things on your own, or you prefer to have it done.

Oh and never foget TUNING!!!

Ok, this is some of the setup I planned on doing. Aebs or Bensen sleeves, JE or Eagle Rods, Pistons i'm un sure of, some sort of port work possibly by portflow, damn mind block but springs, retainers & what not by this 1 company, then cams i was unsure of. I plan on doing most of the work. The head porting & sleeves I don't plan on doing but I'm doing the rest. I'm not wanting to spend more than $5000. I know it'll be close or maybe a little over though. Living next to St. Louis has it's advantages but St. Louis has no Hondas tuners. So I will have to go to Chicago or Kansas City to get it tuned. Oh ya injectors I thought 550s would handle it but would I need 720s? Also turbo size. Since this is going to be driven quite often i'd like boost to start at about 3000-3500. What size tubo would be best for this? Thanks for the replies. I appreciate it.

I'd up the compression a little to at least 9.5:1 and run larger injectors like 720cc.
But thats just my oppinion

Why don't you get earl to build the bottom end for you, especially if you want to have some benson sleeves.

Thanks for the replies. No plans on boring the block any though. Just going to sleeve it, rods, pistons, port the head a bit & then springs, reatianers, cams, etc. I'm going to look into a few things you guys mentioned though. Thanks.

Just personal opinion, but I would look into Full Race or Crower Rods. I was going to use Eagle rods on my B16, but decided to sell them right away after all the hassle I would go through to have them custom fitted with larger rod bolts. I also like the quality of the Full Race/Manley Rods or Crower over the Eagle. I ended up choosing the Full Race/Manley rods.

I think if you are looking for full boost by 3500, maybe look into a T3/60-1. I have a t3/t04b on my single cam and don't enjoy the lag for street driving or autox. If power is all you want, might as well jump on the Precision SC61 bandwagon.

Other things I would recommend for a budget(a.k.a "my")300hp B16:
550cc injectors
Walbro 255lph
GSR cams
ITR innner and outer intake springs(for both exhaust and intake side)
B16 retainers
Supertech valves
Endyn 9.1:1 pistons
GE sleeves
FR/manley rods
T3/t04b from Drag kit(will be upgrading to SC34 precision)
Tial 40mm wg
P30 ECU with Hondata 4b
Action Stage 2 clutch w/ kevlar disk

Having Earl do my bottom end in about a month or 2. Now I need to figure out who should build my head....Any ideas? Thanks. I decided not to build it myself. I don't want to screw anything up.

With what you were doing with your 1st setup I should be able to do very well with my setup. I might get more horsepower than I expected. Crower springs & Ferrea valves sound good. Anyone want to back up what vti2 says to use?

Or better yet, ITR cams.

My opinion... GE sleeves, JE pistions 9:1, Crower billet rods, 720's or higher. can't go wrong with bigger, GSR cams, Haltech or Hondata whatever tuner is comfortable with

My bottom is going to consist of this:

Benson Sleeves install/cylinder hone
Benson balanced/micropolished crank
CP Pistons and rings
Pauter Rods
ACL bearings
OEM oil/water pump
Gasket/seal set
Blue print and assembly

That is what Earl is doing for me. I plan on using 720 injectors. Since everyone keeps mentioning GSR cams I might go that route. Then when tuning comes into play i'll have to go to Chicago or Kansas City because St. Louis doesn't have any good Honda tuners. 1 Guy is supposed to learn Hondata but who knows. ZoRG I'll hit them up. Thanks.
