Default Feedback request: SanadaSand's207 G"LS"R T3/T04E 50 Trim E85 Build progression

Hello, I'm a little new to forced induction and I've been doing some research and asking some friends on what I need.. I need your opinions on this setup since most of you are very experienced. Im shooting for 400-450hp GSR on E85.

JE 10:0.1 asymmetrical flat tops(81mm)
RC1000cc injectors
Tial 38mm wastegate and 30mm bov
walboro 255
Eagle ls Rods
ls Crank
Darton Dry sleeves std bore
4 bar map
Aem fuel rail and fpr
50 trim turbo
stock gsr cams
Hondata s300 v3 boost opt

I have only included these parts just to double check If I need to switch out anything ill need.
What do you guys think? Will this setup carry me to my goal or do I need anything to be replaced? Haven't decided on charge piping and intercooler size.

The basics seem to be there - the 50 trim will get you to 400whp on E85 but won't really go further than that. Don't forget a decent upgraded clutch too. For 450whp I'd just do a CSS block and not shelve out for the full Darton re-sleeve.

If you looking for 450whp (and more later on) then you'd need to switch out the turbo to something with newer technology like a GT/GTX30, Borg Warner S200, PTE 5458 etc.
It will be a nice and responsive 400whp setup though with good mid-range punch if you decide to keep the 50-trim.

i was about to suggest the CSS block as well, I would start with a larger turbo also, in the eBay world something like a GT35 in size. No since in spending money on sleeves for that power range. A good quality t3t4 will give you a great driving experience with little to no lag, where a larger turbo won’t have as nice of drivability but pulls on the top better and can have more max output

Default Re: Turbo setup question

Yeah I'm pretty set for just around 400hp or lower.. I got the flanged dry sleeves since the block was bored out over 82mm and it just gives me a peace of mind. This will be my daily and I live near 4 e85 pumps down the street. The only thing I feel like I need to change out is the act stage 1 clutch kit with the full face. Now since I want this to be a very responsive setup what size charge pipe? Should I do a bottom mount cast manifold? What should be the dimensions of the intercooler I need? I think 2.5inch piping should do it.

Turbocharger Selection isn't easy.
The GT35R is just too large for the purpose you seem to be using this for. The 50 trim, although smaller, is a Torque-maker, and something of that size or similar would be perfect for the additional stroke that you plan to use with the LS crankshaft. Now, if you're looking for something slightly larger for upper-end power (again, depending upon use), something about 52lbs/min-58lbs/min would be more ideal, nothing as large as a 61lbs/min+ and still keep some responsive characteristics. That said, you never stated a purpose for the car, which is necessary in order to get more precise feedback from others.

Oil Squirter Block Kit - A MUST for G"LS"R hybrid engine builds.
Too many are looking at power and not enough in terms of the nuances of how to keep the engine at its best through the long haul. For $12 from Golden Eagle, instead of taking a risk in damaging the cylinder walls with 'bending" the included oil squirters, you can remove them completely, allowing for the piston skirt to travel freely the full length of the rod stroke without any impedence or vibration. (Take it from me learning the hard way) . The only reason for having oil squirters is to help cool the OEM cast pistons in B18C engines. Since you're using Forged units, this is no longer needed, and the additional length of piston skirt could easily cause damage to the cylinders. "Bending them out of the way" is possible, but rotating the crank by hand is no real way to check if the squirters "clear" the piston skirt. Just remove them, and be confident in knowing that won't be a problem in the future.

"spirited roll race" daily. Is confusing. Are you meaning 40mph-130mph highway type of "roll racing"? or road course / Circuit racing..

Some reading as you continue forward,

You need to learn about Intercoolers. HERE

Oh "Spirited" it mostly invloves me playing cat and mouse on the interstate at night with friends and hopfully taking the car to the Florida International Rally and Motorsport park near me. It does sound pretty confusing since I use the term in a completely different definition. Although this will be my daily and will ******* it out here and there it will have to be followed by routine maintenance.

Especially for a FWD, stay within the 400whp-450whp range. That park is part road course, rally-cross. 500whp would be rather unusable.

Okay will do! Another question since the oil squirters are plugged would it be better to utilize the additional oil pressure? Lets say an oil cooler?

Only if you plan to start your circuit/rally cross racing in your endeavors. The squirters don't change your pressure by that much to warrant using one. Just don't think that it's necessary

Hunters are a little larger than 48lbs/min T3/T04E 50 "trim" turbochargers. From what I'm seeing from the Honda B-series guys, about 470whp-480whp using a .63A/R at over 22-26psi of boost pressure
