I have a 95 Honda Accord and my stick shift moves from 1st to 2nd but (it moves like its in neutral) however it is stuck in 2nd gear can anyone help me figure this problem it before I take it to a shop? I was told it might not be that big of a deal. Please let me know if you have any info about this problem Please-N-Thanks

 

Is the shift assembly on the tranny moving when you move the shifter ?

 

I haven't been able to get under the car yet but I was pulling into my drive way and i was in second gear and when I went to put it into neutral it stayed in second but the shift stick moved forward. Almost like it wasn't connected to anything...

 

The shift assembly is on top of the tranny not under it, just have someone move the shifter and see what's going on with the shifter assembly where it attaches to the top of the tranny.

 

Ok, but why can't I move the shifter left towards 3rd 4th 5th & reverse? It will only move up to 1st & down to 2nd, but it won't come out of 2nd I just seems like nothing is attached to the shifter
