Obd2 emissions
This goes to all my fellow obd2 owners that are turboed using obd1 Ecu!
What do you guys do when it's time to get emissions done? I've searched and asked a few members but no prevail. I've read some people say keep your stock Ecu? How can I do that if I'm running let's say 15psi?
Thank you in advance

Do the above but pull the waste gate spring or a charge pipe and drive it until the readiness checks are completed. Get it emissioned then swap everything back out.
So when the smog guy pops his hood and sees the turbo kit there, what do you guys think hes going to say? Oh well you have pulled your WG spring and you're not making any boost, but it's cool you pass because you're a cool guy..... No.
Nothing short of putting everything back to stock will get you by a smog check, unless you know someone. But hookup smogs are not cheap like they used to be. CA has been cracking down on bad smog stations and they are much less willing to help people out these days. Dont be surprised if someone asks for several hundred bucks to have this done as it is a big risk for a business owner. They will check to be sure all your emissions equipment items are in place and with a turbo setup that is basically impossible, unless you have a very rare CARB certified kit which if I am not mistaken hasnt been produced in years. It is the pain we go through for the privilege of living in CA. Buy a newer car and you only have to make sure there are no CELs, they dont need to do a full rolling road test on 2006 and newer cars I think? Someone correct me i am too lazy to research...
