1994 Del Sol Vtec B16 Build
Hey guys, my name is Joe and I semi-recently aquired a low mileage Del Sol Vtec. I have a little build going at my website: http://www.modernJDMclassics.com but since I am constantly on honda-tech for help with my cars, I figure why not show my face and some of my progress so far.
Previous to the Del Slo, I had a BB6 Prelude that had a Type-S H22, Tein Street Basis Coils, S2k Seats/steering wheel, and full I/H/E.

After that I messed around with a Miata and a few other cars but I really missed the Prelude, and Hondas in general. Which brings me to my current project:

A 1994 Del Sol Vtec. Now I know what you're thinking, but this is not just another Honda with rust, a single cam, and a fart can. The aim with this project will be to add subtle suspension, interior, and styling modifications to slowly enhance the car to perfection.

For now, lets take a look at the car itself. I am the second owner of this low mileage, all original Del Sol Vtec. The Vtec trim came with stiffer rear sways, and a few other subtle handling upgrades. The biggest upgrade however lays under the hood. My car came with a B16A2 DOHC from the factory. This is the same motor found in the more common EM2 Civic SI. Power comes on in a predictable linear fashion. It is perfectly matched to the cars weight and pulls hard all the way to the 8200rpm rev limiter. Sending power to the Y21 close ratio transmission, it is easy to keep the revs above 5k rpm, which is where this 160hp Vtec really breathes and strives.

I bought it with 89,xxx original miles and will be upgrading it slowly over the months to come. So far, the car has kept me pretty busy.
As of 9/5/14:

-New Clutch Master Cylinder
-New Clutch Slave Cylinder
-New Exedy Clutch kit (Clutch, TOB, Input Shaft Bearing)
-New Goodyear All Season Tires
-New rear brake pads with slotted/vented rotors
-New Timing Belt/Water pump kit
-Energy Suspension Polyurethane Shift Bushings
-Replace the A/C blower motor

Now that the car has been cleaned up with typical maintenance issues taken care of, I focused on just enjoying it as my daily driver. Snapped a few quick photos of how it sits today:

I have a Megan Racing chassis 'H' brace on the way to be installed some time next week. It attaches the front sub-frame to the frame rails and should help me regain some rigidity that is lost from the targa top.
As a teaser, my plan of attack going forward is to focus mainly on the Interior and suspension of the car. To give you an idea of the approach I am taking, I plan on completing the following to start:
-Heat Wrap Stock Headers
-Megan Racing H Brace
-S2000 Seats
-Ek Steering Column/AP1 S2000 Wheel
-Coilovers
-Yellow 3M film for fog-lights
-Polk Audio 6.5in 4-bolt pattern speakers
-New double din head-unit
-New shift linkage/shift boot/shift know/e-brake boot
-Revised intake setup
-AEM Uego wideband o2 gauge (leftover from Miata)

Thanks! And do you have the cruise control hooked up? I'm not great with wiring (i feel like most people either suck at it, or hate it lol) but I can follow a diagram so I'm gonna attempt to
Yeah man cruise is wired up and it wasn't hard at all. I even made it so that it can be unplugged if needed and it works perfectly. I have a few pictures of the set up on my build thread. if you want, I can try and put together a little DIY instruction on it.
