Icon2 Speedometer issues!

Hello I'm on my first civic and I'm trying to repair all the neglect it's previous owner left it with. I'm nearly there but I can't figure out how to fix my speedometer. It isn't the speed sensor, I ran a computer and it is spot on. It sits at zero like it should but skips over 10 mph. It goes straight to 20 mph and stays 10 mph off of what I am actually doing. It isn't a big deal but since I have so much in the car now I want everything to work properly. Thanks for any help :D

First thing you should do is clean all your grounds. Just as a maintenance task. Real simple. 20 minutes and some sand paper is all you need.

You say you ran a computer on it. By this, do you mean you plugged a scan tool into your data port and observed the proper speed readout on the scan tool as you drove the car around or do you mean something else?

are the tires the correct size..? OR, is it the original tranny? If the gearing is different, that'l cause a problem too.

94 or a 99? Si or DX? Coupe, sedan or hatch? Auto or manual? At least we know it's a FWD.

Thanks for all the replies guys, it's a 97 EX manual trans and as far as I know everything is original to the car. I plugged a scan tool into the car and drove it to get the speedometer information. Thanks again for any ideas
