what fitting goes in the oil pan for turbo?
im almost done putting my engine back together, and i want to prep it before it goes in. isnt there an oil return line or some crap like that, that i will need in future. what eles should i do prior to install?
You can use a bulkhead fitting which just requires a hole, because it has two seals on either side. You can use a weld on fitting which has threads on the inside of it, weld the outside on then thread in the fitting. You can braze on that weld on fitting too if you don't want to weld it. You can just drill a hole and tap it, so your fitting will thread in, but I'm not sure if the pan is thick enough to provide enough threads. You could just weld the fitting strait on if it is steel. Many options.
i'm thinking ill go w/the bulkhead fitting...but what size? where on the oil pan is good for the h22 in a 4th gen lude? any pics? and where can i pick one up? thanks, and sorry for the noob turbo qustions, but this is my first trip to the darkside!
You want to position the oil pan bulkhead fitting so that the oil return line points straight down.
