Default Learn me "nitrous oxide".

Have always considered is as I've head that it's cheap temporary HP(for as long as the shot lasts). I see NO DIY/Installs anywhere for integra or even civics so do ppl actually use this ? how hard is it to install ? from what I see i'll be looking at 600$ or so plus/negative ?. anyone have experience with it and what brand did you go with NX/NOS ?

I'm not to worried about the laws of it being illegal here in Ontario.

very hard on piston ringlands mostly because of the quick hit of cylinder pressure and lean conditions brought on by a hot bottle which is more pressure and or not pulling enough timing in the fuel map

if you use nitrous you will need an s300 hondata with dual map capability or, i suppose you could use crome and just burn 2 chips and install the nitrous chip at the track

most people wind up going turbo since it makes as much or more power, is easier on the engine and they don't have to refill bottles frequently

Hmmm never thought of that ! good point the sudden hit of it affecting the engine so i'd need a s300 or find someone who know nitrous to burn me a chip i'd plan on running it "ready" at all times. turbo set up is a bit out of my price/mechanical know how at the moment lol. i'm also considering ITR/PR3 pistons in my GSR as that my be the cheapest/safest of some of the ideas out there. would be doing a rebuild essentially. just looking for my "next mod" I have bolt on's plus cams only other thing I can think of is head milling/porting to gain a bit of power

save your money for a faster car and or save your money for a turbo setup. all those bolt ons and whatnot aren't really worth jack. maybe a couple tenths in the 1/4 for $1000 spent.

the b18c is just optimized from the factory, hard to get more without re doing the whole engine or boosting

I have been running a ZEX 75 shot, [dry] in my 94 RS for about 17 years, [when auto-crossing only] engine is still strong, burns no oil, with 227,000km on the engine.

I have had 0 problems with the ZEX system and it was an easy install.
You can find a complete ZEX system for around $300, [or less] another $30 for a purge kit.

With proper engine maintenance [and a healthy engine] you should not have any problems, I have not. 94

^ I agree, I had a zex kit in my car about 8 years ago and loved it. Used for drag racing and all around fun. Ran probably 10 + bottles through the motor. 75 shot, dry kit with Zex plugs.
Did eventually blow it up but that was because I upped it to a 100 shot and at the time the most cost effective tuning option was a VAFC, so needless to say it wasn't the nitrous kits fault, LOL.

Yea, at a 100 shot you should have gone to a wet system, at a 75 shot we are pushing it. 94

good if you wanna go boom

you would have to build the block and the head to withstand the strain

^I can't really speak on what the largest shot you can run threw a stock engine is so idk....

I spoke with my tuner about it, he didn't recommend it for my set up/plans also I see my self running 4+ bottles threw it in the first month that I would have it lol. have other areas of the car that need money first(handling components).

Me and my brother has always had nitrous cars. With enough timing removed, colder spark plugs and fuel for the shot you are running its great. But dont set it up properly or go extreme with the shot size and yes a BOOM is in you future. I have had a few issues but minor in the grand scheme of things but I will still use it with out any concern.
