Default B20B turbo - please give me some precautions!

Well, I have my clutch back already. Basically traded in my old Stage 4 clutch disc with $100 and they gave me a brand new stage 4 disc. Much thanks to Louis @ ClutchMasters for all his help & advice that he gave me over the phone.

Anyway, all i'm waiting on now is a new set of ferrea valve guides and ferrea SS valves, and then the engine will be put back together. Custom 1-piece blockguard has been installed, and a custom 2.2mm B20B headgasket has been made in order to drop my compression ratio down to 8.2:1. But since I can't use my JE pistons and Eagle rods from my B18C, and i've run out of money, i'll be pushing boost with stock B20B rods and pistons..

The head of my engine is pretty much fully built (full specs of my engine can be found at the link in my signature) and i'm running a standalone ECU with 550cc injectors, JDM B18C-R cams, AEM cam gears, and Knock + A/F meters on my dashboard. Using a F-Max turbokit for the Integra GSR (with the Turbonetics T3/T4 turbo).

Over here, weather is hot. All the time. And we have 95 octane as pump gas here. Reading everything above, how much boost do you guys think I should run with very conservative (rich) tuning? What are the limits.. without breaking something? My tuner is telling me to push around 10-12psi of boost daily, but from looking at the rods, it scares me.. they look like toothpics. I need help from you guys. I don't plan on blowing up this engine anytime soon, but forged pistons/rods will be coming a few months from now.

Help me please! Thanks!

8.2:1? and 10 - 12psi of boost?
If I were you, I would keep the stock compression 9.2:1

You can push up to 10psi, but that's pushing the limits. If your not planning to rebuild anytime soon, I would stick to 7 psi. 7 psi on a b20 is fun! Gotta love the torque.

I'm wondering whether 7-10psi on the b20b would equal the power i had at 12 psi with the b18c.. if yes.. then i'll be happy

at least put in rod bolts from ARP, they are like 40 bucks, they are the same as B18a...and really weak.

Same thing happened to my friend with his b20/vtec...cracked in the same place. The blocks are weak and dont handle boost very well. With that in mind they should be sleeved...or just get a b18b and sleeve it with 84mm bore and save some money.

No they won't work, different length.

SIDE NOTES:

B20/VTEC's have problems with valve slap if you're not careful with the cam timing. The recesses in stock pistons aren't quite big enough for the VTEC valves. I'm not sure about your head gasket, but it should give you a margin of saftey if it's extra thick.

Also B20 sleeves are about the weakest of b-series block you can find, be careful with your boost. The sleeves don't take kindly to any sort of detontation.
