Default b18a1 build in progress

Hey guys new to the forum. Had a few questions i thought i could get some help on.

I have a 91 integra with a b18a1. I just bought a port and polished head with stage 2 cams valves, springs, and retainers all Brian Crower. And i figured i may as well do the pistons and rods while in at it beings i own on boosting the car and its got 330,000 on the odometer and I've got some blow by.

I was thinking cp pistons and either eagle H beams or crower H beams.
Ill have to hold off on the turbo kit for now but i figure when I'm ready i could put darn near anything on it at that point.

The next question is does anyone know a good tuned in sarasota FL?

Thanks for any added input and ideas in advance.

There are plenty of tuners in florida. you might have to drive a little bit but you can find some. Not sure about Sarasota specifically though. Eagle h beams are all you need and affordable. If you want to keep it budget you could also run the nippon ycp pistons with the eagle rods they make them with floating pins. IDK what your power goals are so i cant be sure what you need. Post what your goals are and what turbo kit will be goign on the car and we can steer you in the right direction.

I'm un sure of the turbo kit right now. It is kind of a budget build. I kind of have an idea of bout 500-600 hpi was looking at the Brian Crower H beams and cp 81.5mm 9.4:1 or 9.7:1 pistons. I can get them for about $800. and the machine work will cost me about $1000 balance and blueprinted. I'm thinking 15-20 psi thru a garrett. But like i said unsure on the turbo kit. And probably a AEM stand alone ecu??

Well i was thinking 500-600 hp. Was looking at cp 81.5mm 9.7:1 pistons. And Brian Crower H beam rods. Balanced and blueprinted running between 15-20psi?
And a stand alone AEM ECU. Like i said tho still unsure on the turbo kit probably a garrett, I'm wich garrett tho. Lol

Pardon me for saying this but why does everyone insist on reinventing the wheel? Find an ALREADY DONE build thread with your horsepower goals and copy it. It's already been done dozens, if not hundreds of times before you. Simple.

500-600hp is a lofty undertaking for someone that isn't even sure of what turbo he needs to run to get there.

(Enter now the obligatory comments of how this is a forum. A place to ask questions and learn isn't it?)

You don't seem to have a solid plan on how to get there.

Lol i really don't. That's why I'm here. I'm more of a small block chevy person. This is kind my first turbo motor. So this is all new. I do know that i can't afford the turbo right now. My brother is telling me to get a precision turbo. I'm still researching everything. Lol just trying ti learn do's and donts before i blow up a motor or two. Lol

Where are you getting 500hp from? Why a 10 second car? You ever drive a front wheel drive car with that much power?

Yes i have. I've raced all my life. My brother has a 11 second evo x. My youngest brother drives a 12 second civic. I want to run 10's because my dads shelby runs low 11 high 10's and i just want to out run him. Lol he has to go with new internals. before he can make more power. He is pushing the limit of his stock internals. That and well really? Why not? I just want to. Lol

Lmao yea. Pretty much. But he's 53 and has the money to build a beast. Lol I'm baking on a budget. Lol but still have enough to build a nice street/strip car that will run 10's. I just chose the acura cuz parts are cheap and plentiful.

Ha I am building my turbo Integra to beat my dads 452 big block Cuda. THAT will be hilarious!

Not to mention it's so much fun to drive even at the current 10psi lol.

I hope the OP has a budget for a suspension set up, brakes and all the other trinkets needed for a 500WHP rocket.
I mean you will need 400+ Hp to move a 4500lb car as you would a 250hp, 2400lb car to go the same distance.

I would look to a solid reliable build. You might as well go here and just buy an engine before you go to your local shop.

I would PM "The Shodan" about what line of turbo for this typeof power. IDK if the Reaper turbos will handle 500whp..

So where's the "in progress" part of this "build"? SO far we haven't got past the dream stage.

I have the head i have another week maybe two before i get the rods, pistons and bearings new head bolts and gaskets. Water and oil pumps as well. Then another week maybe two before it will go to bad iron in sarasota fl for the machine work.

Now after some more reading i think I'm going with a precision bb 6262 or the bb 6266 . Simply because the internals will handle it.

I have the precision 6262, it's a sweet turbo. I can't speak for it's full potential yet, I'm just flirting with its potential until my other engine is ready. But so far been great

Aren't we talking 5 digit budgets here? I remember reading that somewhere.

I wouldn't run a 6262 or precision anything, they've been having problems with compressor wheel flex at high boost pressures, the hub twists and puts the blades into the compressor housing, destroying the turbo... and whenever someone sends in a unit like that precision always says oil contamination so the warranty is void, etc,

Stay far away from precision, pick a genuine Garrett based unit or have TheShodan build one for you.
Besides precision refuses to ever have compressor maps made for their turbos, they said it was a waste of money, when compressor maps are the proper way to size a turbo,,, you can just advertise that a turbo will support XXX HP without having any way to show bow it flows at what pressure level/air flow,

Stick with a reputable company like Garrett or like I said, TheShodan can make you anything you want... with an amazing warranty and customer support.

But it sounds like you're just pipe dreaming and don't really know what it takes to make 600hp and pug it to the ground, you'll need a good suspension setup as well as brakes and a good set of tires

And stay away from anything china/eBay

This is no pipe dream bro. Its a timing thing. I make enough money to build the power i want. Its just build a little wait a couple weeks build a little that's all. But being my first turbo motor I'm iffy about some things and still learning. Thanks for theheads up on precision tho!!!!
I have the head tho already like i said. Another week or two should have the rods and pistons and everything else ready for the machine shop. Then another week or two to have the work done. Give me a month maybe month and a half ill have my base and behaving for the rest for the turbo kit and ecu.

Sounds like you know what your doing then.

Personally I wouldnt get a sleeved block from no one other then Dart, GE or Laskey/Bensons. People who know Honda blocks and the little secrets to make the sleeve strong. But, if you trust your machine shop, then go for it.
