Turbo's=Good 
No such thing as a "bad" turbo 
Check for shaft play. Make sure it sping freely if you spin it w/ your fingers on the compressor side. A little left/right shaft play is 'okay', but watch out for up/down.. If you hear any fins hittingt the sides of the housing, I wouldn't suggest wasting your time putting it on; as it's going to need to be rebuilt in a couple days/weeks/months anyways.
