Hey I got my T3 turbo today and I just found out that it has shaft wobble. IT spins well and there is no shaft play in it, but it does wobble.

When i pull it toward the compressor housing and spin it, it moves far enough so you can hear it scrape LIGHTLY against the compressor housing.

My questions are:

Is it time for a rebuild on it? Or will it be ok for a while?

Also, are all T3 rebuild kits the same? This is T3 turbo off a mustang SVO .63/.60A/R.

Yes it definitely needs a rebuild if its lightly scraping. You don't want little metal shavings thrown into your motor. As far as the rebuild kits go, I'm not sure how many different kits there are so someone else on here will have to answer. I just call up a local turbo company and tell them the specs on my turbo and they get the right kit for it. Its not a bad idea to get it professionally done with the balancing tools they have to make sure that the scraping hasn't unbalanced the turbo.

sweet thanks. I appreciate the reply. Ill def. rebuild it then. I was gonna have ForcedPerformance do the balancing for like $30 and the rebuild it myself.
