just on my way home i was driving and my oil pressure guage started going nuts.Its not leaking and theres no wierd noises and the oil level is fine..What causes oil pressure to jump around but not have any leaks noises or bad oil levels. the guage is electric could that be the problem??

sounds like a loose connection
not enought to turn the gauge off but play havoc with the readings

 

ok cool i will check for that first thing in the morning. but is there any way that my motor could have a problem without having a noise to go with it?? cause it runs smooth and theres only 1400 miles on the motor.also have you heard of this happening before??

 

It's probably the Guage itself but usually when the oil pressure rises then lowers its the oil pump and if not then its the engine bearings

 

Did it just happen the one time or is it constantly doing it?

 

it was a loose connection on the sending unit. thank you guys for the help.
